When rugged fugitive James "Stretch" Dawson (Gregory Peck, To Kill A Mockingbird) and his ring of bandits arrive in a seemingly deserted township, they are unprepared for the turmoil ahead of them. The only citizens left lingering in the shadows, a young Tomboy named Mike (Anne Baxter,All About Eve) and her grandfather know the very secrets of the once flourishing township. But a conniving thug called Dude (Richard Widmark, Kiss of Death) discovers that there is gold nearby and schemes to make it his own. Determined to let no man get in his way he conspires against Stretch, bringing into play one hell of a showdown. (Umbrella Entertainment)
