In 1959, Fidel Castro's small band of rebels, assisted by Che Guevara's guerrilla fighters, toppled the corrupt Cuban dictatorship of General Baptista. Castro then remained as Cuba's president for almost 50 years before stepping down due to ill health in 2008. This remarkable man survived a CIA led invasion of his county, a missile crisis, eight assassination attempts, nine US presidents and the fall of his Soviet allies. (High Fliers Films)
