English Static is a good albeit average American horror movie that uses family relationship drama to pull viewers in. In addition, there is a mystery surrounding what is actually going on with the individual characters. The plot development is not exactly straightforward, and in the end, you realize that you enjoyed it even though it is not very well-thought-out. ()

English This is such a bland, boring and weak and home invasion flick that it's a wonder it got 55%. The pacing is drastically slow, the cinematography has a typical B-movie filter, the actors and their characters act like assholes, and the final wannabe twist in the last five minutes is downright ridiculous and leaves the viewer with nothing but a "so what?" thought. A waste of 80 minutes of my life. ()

English Static is an excellent example of a movie that is helped a lot by its ending, which manages to justify all the nonsense that has taken place up until that point (or at least most of it). To tell you the truth, for most of it the movie was pissing me off (even though it’s well executed technically), because I hadn’t seen something so irrational in a long time, and by the end I was downright sad that another competent director had signed up for a stupid script. But fortunately, the ending makes things somehow fall into place, which results in a positive impression. Solid stuff. ()
