A blind masseur in color? I didn't really believe it, but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the color cinematography. This is truly a story that's reminiscent of Zatoichi, where even at home, in his native village, Ichi can't find peace and must still fight for his life, even though he doesn't want to and would rather just live with the understanding that everyone would leave him alone. The sadness on his face is easily transferred to the viewer. ()
