Grandma's Boy (2006)

English A very enjoyable and funny comedy. The cast is relatively unknown, but everything works well here. There are games, there is smoking, there is a lot of crude, rude and slightly offensive humour (which I like :D) and I had a solid three minute laughing fit four times. The funniest for me was Joel David Moore, a weirdo who starts making robot noises when he gets nervous (idiot!!). 80%

The Punisher (2004)

English I'm surprised I was skeptical about this film at first and put it off, because The Punisher is exactly the kind of film I adore. The perfect revenge of an ultra pissed off cop losing his entire family, with Thomas Jane playing a great hero that you root for and keep your fingers crossed for, the guy has incredible charisma. Standing against him is the psychopathic John Travolta, a ruthless gangster with more ruthless cronies (that two meter tall, 150 kilogram Russian was a terrible asshole). Amazing entertainment, perfect action, solid brutality, one-liners, I watched until 3am and my eyes flashed with happiness. I miss movies like this!!! 80%

Dom Hemingway (2013)

English An interesting film with a colourful vocabulary. The biggest upside is Jude Law's overacting and lots of interesting wordplay. The very opening scene where Jude Law gives a five minute monologue extolling his genitalia during oral sex is for me one of the best scripted comedic notches. Nicely paced, decently shot. It's unusual and captivated me for a weak four stars. 70%.

The A-Team (2010)

English Considering the director and the cast, a disappointment for me. The action is nicely over-the-top, but I wasn't very interested, the pace wasn't great, I was quite bored and lost in the plot at times. I found it too convoluted and cluttered. The jokes also didn't work, too bad. 65%.

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004)

English Amazing stuff! The absolute king of the adventure, fantasy, comedy, family film genres. The story of two orphans who change guardians because each time they run into a weirdo. The film is full of black humour, tragedy follows tragedy, there is an absolutely diabolical Jim Carrey with his typical expressions, only that here he is very evil! The xenophobic Meryl Streep is also great – for example, she is afraid to go to the fridge and fall into it. 90% I recommend it to everyone, guaranteed fun. Made my day.

Cell 213 (2011)

English An enjoyable and little-known prison horror film from Canada. The story follows a successful lawyer who is falsely accused of murdering his client. He is mercilessly tried and sent to cell 213, but there are dark forces residing there that will play with his mind. The film is more of a thriller with horror overtones, but it has solid craftsmanship, decent performances (Michael Rooker as the warden is a proper sleazebag), the dark atmosphere of the prison works, the suspense pedals along and there's no shortage of twists. For me, nice entertainment. Story 6/10, Atmosphere 7/10, Gore 4/10, Visuals 7/10, Action 4/10, Suspense 7/10, Humor 0/10. Entertainment 7/10. 75%.

Role Models (2008)

English A solid comedy that is reliably pulled off by Stiffler and Antman, and a thumbs up for the young brash black guy Bobb'e J. Thompson (I wouldn't have been able to handle him). Good idea, cool gags, nice pace. 80%

The Longest Yard (2005)

English A great ride combining two guaranteed functional issues: a prison and American football. I also liked the cast, with Adam Sandler acting for the first time perhaps, and a lot of bruisers (the film perhaps stars the biggest animals to see the cinematic world, only Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista are missing). I don't know why I put the movie off for so long, great comedy. 90%

Grudge Match (2013)

English Nice film. Robert De Niro didn't seem to me a suitable rival for Sylvester Stallone (the difference in physique and age is quite evident), but I can give it a pass. The whole thing has an entertaining pace, the story is interesting, but the jokes lacked charge in my opinion, I smiled rather than laughed, and the final fight had heart. 75% I don't regret watching it.

RocknRolla (2008)

English Guy Ritchie may have talent, but RocknRolla is just an average gangster flick. There's a nice cast, fine styling and an interesting plot progression, but what's missing here is thick action, blood and memorable lines, and in that respect the film fails. But it’s watchable without getting bored. 60%
