Trick-wise definitely better than the TV show "Duna" and also just as compelling in terms of story. This is a significant turning point in the entire "Duna" series, I mean the book series, and in how its world will be shaped. It's incredible what Frank Herbert achieved here, and I must say that these TV creators managed to make a good version that has nothing to be ashamed of. A few more well-known actors and a few more Czech faces certainly didn't hurt the movie. It's even great that some of them returned. It's a shame that there were no further movies made based on the other books. Maybe someday someone will attempt to adapt this sci-fi masterpiece again and succeed even more. ()
