Jiří Kodet was the only reason to watch this film and I sadly didn’t change my mind afterwards. The murder was average, the investigation was boring and Kodet, who I still associate with film Cosy Dens, also didn’t shine as I expected. Overall it was a disappointment. ()
After two weak Erben projects from the 70s, there was a new chance to resurrect the popular captain Exner, this time wearing the face of Jiří Kodet. After Vala from the 1960s, a very interesting choice. Kodet is cuddly to women, he knows how to wear a jacket, and even his heel is always neat. Jan Schmidt's script is not awkward... but it lacks something in order to be perfect. It needed a more refined Exner Girl - after all, Jana Boušková has always been a useful actress, but not a sexy idiot. Yet it's a watchable Barrandov crime drama of the 1980s, where it's especially unfortunate that it wasn't written out for the entire free cycle. What followed, again unfortunately on television, was again a disaster. ()
