When Lt David Halloran (Harrison Ford), a courageous American bomber pilot and British nurse Margaret Sellinger (Lesley-Anne Down) accidentally meet during an air raid, they fall instantly in love. Although she is married, Margaret and David plunge head first into an affair... until David is called away for a dangerous mission to pilot a British intelligence officer behind enemy lines.
