Plots(1)
Three-part BBC adaptation of Joseph Conrad's novel. Set in Victorian London, the drama follows Soho shopkeeper Verloc (Toby Jones) as he becomes increasingly involved in espionage and terrorism. Unknown to his wife Winnie (Vicky McClure), Verloc is employed by the Russian embassy to spy on a dangerous anarchist group and is tasked with bombing Greenwich Observatory so it can be blamed on the anarchists. As Chief Inspector Heat (Stephen Graham) becomes more aware of his suspicious activities, Verloc uses his vulnerable brother-in-law Stevie (Charlie Hamblett) to help him carry out his mission.
