Talented young blues guitarist Eugene ‘Lightning Boy’ Martone (Ralph Macchio, The Karate Kid) is an artist in need of direction. A rebellious student at the famed Julliard School, his passion for Blues music is the driving force behind all that he does. Inspired to journey out of his comfort zone and discover more music, he sets out on a quest to recover legendary guitarist Robert Johnson's fabled "30th Song" of 1938, considered by many to be lost in the whispers of time. His journey leads him to respected harmonica player Willie Brown (Blues legend Joe Seneca) who agrees to help only if he is busted out of his retirement home. Together they take a road trip across the vast American landscape from Memphis to Mississippi, exploring the rich history of Blues through the people and places that helped shape its sound.
