English Ang Lee is a good director, and I don't think anyone doubts that. Additionally, this is a film that has a lot of good elements like cinematography, editing, pacing, scene transitions, but the most important aspect, what the film should actually convey, is simply delivered weakly and doesn't really lead anywhere. But it might make you think about how pointless war is and what we consider heroism. ()
