"All witnesses lie... all that remains for you is to decide is why" - Defence Attorney Richard Ramsay. A teenage boy - Mike (Gabriel Basso) - has been charged with the horrific stabbing murder of his domineering father Boone Lassiter (Jim Belushi). His hand-print is found on the bloody knife and he has even confessed to the crime. But this case is not all that it seems. Defence Attorney Richard Ramsay (Keanu Reeves) takes on this personal crusade when he swears to his widowed friend, Loretta Lassiter (Renée Zellweger), that he will keep her son Mike out of prison. As Mike's trial proceeds, chilling evidence comes to light about the kind of man his father really was. While Ramsay uses the evidence to get his client acquitted, his new colleague Janelle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) digs deeper into the story - and begins to realise that uncovering the whole truth will be something far more shocking than any of them ever imagined. English When I set aside the fact that the whole movie takes place in court, I must say that Keanu Reeves is a damn good lawyer. And I must add that what contributes a lot to my liking him even more is the fact that he has a good dubber. However, what people write about him on social networks also speaks for him, so there is no other way but to believe in this perfect person. He is simply a badass, and with him, an otherwise average courtroom drama caught a completely different drive. ()

English At the beginning, it seemed quite promising that it could be a fairly good intricate courtroom case, but the more it unfolded, the more it seemed to me that it was poorly handled in terms of the screenplay. Keanu reprises his role from The Devil's Advocate, complete with the vomiting, there's a final twist, and after half an hour, you may realize that it really is Renée Zellweger here. ()
