English It's a little bit of Bond in Japan mixed with Lupin the Third. Kamenashi wasn't bad at all, let alone Isei. Fukada mediocre as always, but also gorgeous as always. I think if the Japanese work a little more on the action scenes, it'll be great. But at least you can see they're moving somewhere. It had some weaker scenes, but overall I rate it as one of the more successful fairy tale spy movies. Even despite the LOL ending. And I really liked the camera work. ()

English I can't help but feel this whole film has a great charge to it. You'd almost think it was based on a manga, not just a novel. There's action, it's got great visuals, and overall the scenes are polished to look good. And they do. Unpretentious entertainment, but enjoyable. ()

English Japan is not lagging behind in this year's spy genre and its contribution is certainly not a disgrace, on the contrary, it deserves praise. The Joker Game draws the viewer into the action from the opening minutes and leaves them reveling in the colourful, cleverly written and entertaining set pieces. Kamenashi, the protagonist, is a likeable, very bright, hard-working, precise and detailed spy, who handles everything with flying colours, and is seconded by the beautiful Fukada, one of the most beautiful women in Asia. Although there is less action and the fights don't really stand out, the chases are interesting, spiced up with attractive disguises and various gadgets, which I personally quite like. The finale was far-fetched, but I smiled and didn't mind the Lol moment at all. This Japanese version Mission: Impossible was good. 75% ()
