An American couple - Steven (Ryan Phillippe) and Shannon (Rachelle Lefevre) travels to Puerto Rico to finalise the adoption of their seven year old daughter, a Haitian orphan named Nina (Briana Roy). Events take an alarming turn, however, when Nina disappears from her hotel room one night. As the couple find themselves further entwined in a perplexing web of lies and confusion, their own relationship begins to unravel and things take an even more startling turn toward the unexpected. I can't help it, but even though this is sometimes truly a dialogue horror, John Cusack has been quite fitting in similar roles lately. Partly because of his face, but also because of his acting. A terribly straightforward film, but at least it draws attention to something that is really happening. I'm not saying it's worth it, but surely someone will also be interested. ()
