Amityville: The Evil Escapes is a bit of a lightweight horror, where the only scene that is truly intense and had me squirming is the one with the garbage disposal. Otherwise, the pace is rather sluggish, and the film can get quite boring very quickly. The mythology develops in a strange direction here, and if the film were part of another series or completely standalone, it wouldn't change much. Nothing grand happens, and the first and second installments remain the highlights of the series so far. ()
