Wu Xia stars Donnie Yen as a humble peasant who “accidentally” kills two thugs who terrorize his village in southwest China in 1917. But a curious detective, played by Takeshi Kaneshiro, suspects the peasant paper-maker must be more than he seems. In his mind, he recreates the crime scene and concludes that the hero of the village is actually a deadly martial arts assassin himself. The detective may be delusional. As the story plays out, the action, suspense and interest all roll up to intense levels. (Vendetta Films)
