Professor Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser) receives his teenager nephew Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson). He will spend ten days with his uncle while his mother, Elizabeth, prepares to move to Canada. She gives a box to Trevor that belonged to his missing brother, Max, and Trevor finds a book with references to the last journey of his brother. He decides to follow the steps of Max with Sean and they travel to Iceland, where they meet the guide Hannah Sgeirsson (Anita Briem). While climbing a mountain, there is a thunderstorm and they protect themselves in a cave. However, a lightening collapses the entrance and the trio is trapped in the cave. (Roadshow Entertainment)

A fun silly romp for the whole family that could easily have been 4* in IMAX. And something else I noticed, Brendan Fraser isn't very convincing as a scientist. ;-) ()
Brendan, Brendan... Another screwup. You'd think Jules Verne would never turn over in his grave more than after the latest adaptation of “Around the World in 80 Days”. This is just too much. ()
Such a nice, action-packed family movie, where the roles for individual characters were chosen quite well. This was reflected in the fact that it is quite a decent entertainment, the kind of film you can just sit and not pay much attention to. Every now and then you might laugh at something, every now and then you might hold your breath, but when it's over, you will quickly forget about it. A nice little snack that is inoffensive. ()
