A serial killer living next door? Kale Brecht (Shia LaBeouf), is a teenager placed under house-arrest after punching his Spanish teacher in the middle of class. Deprived of his X-Box by his had-enough mother Julie (Carrie-Ann Moss), Kale becomes a voyeur, increasingly interested in the lives of his neighbours, particularly Ashley (Sarah Roemer), the new girl next door. As his observations increase, Kale becomes convinced that another neighbour, Mr. Turner (David Morse), is the serial killer at loose in the community.
