John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara fit together perfectly here, and it's nice to see how they're both grumpy at each other the whole time, only for it to eventually lead to them getting together. The very end might be a bit too quick, but her escape through the town at least somewhat makes up for it. It's sometimes overly slapstick, but it doesn't matter because John Wayne is there.
