Roger Daltrey plays the convict McVicar, who escapes prison, pulls a few jobs, and is rearrested in this intriguing crime drama. Based on an autobiography by John McVicar (who also wrote the script), the film shows the British underworld in a way not often seen on film. Daltrey, former singer with the rock group The Who, does a competent if uninspired job in the lead; Cheryl Campbell and former British teen idol Adam Faith manage to give their characters more energetic life.
